Training In Dublin for Connemarathon Half Marathon
Hi...I'm doing the half marathon in Connemara for the 1st time this April and I was wondering if anyone knows a good place on Dublin Northside to train for Connemarathon where you could incorporate some hills into the route to help prepare for the course? Thanks! Running pitch laps in the slush at the moment (-:
Howth head could be a runner......
Try running Howth Head, definitely a good hill challenge
Howth is the best training for the hell of the west - the final hill that stretches out n the Connemarathon! If you can run Howth you can survive any hills thrown at you!! Good luck!
Is anyone 1 getting together this year to train for it?
Is anyone getting together this year to train? I'm living in Malahide and I'm trainning in the Phoenix park @ 9am this Sat the 13th of Feb 2010.

I'm living in Galway and wondering does anyone know of a place where you can get advice on running shoes. Instead of your usual sports store where i sometimes wonder...!
There is comments on buying shoes in Galway from those living in the area further down in the list on this forums in buying running shoes in Galway, also if you know what you are looking for their is the shop on line here as Seb has pointed out! Hope that is of help yvo

Best thing is to run to the Phoenix Park and try some of the hills around the magazine fort, afetr you do that for a while it will certainly build a bit of strength in the legs
