Sports Bras
Right... I am on a mission to find a decent one. Any recommendations?
Thanks Seb. I will have a look online for craft. I think it is important issue - after all, it is important to be comfortable with all of your gear, especially over longer distances
What annoys me is that many 'sports' shops such as champion, elvery's etc do not sell sports bras. I was looking around the grafton street area and tried several sports and lingerie shops. None of thing had anything suitable and when then did carry sports bras they only had a limited range of funny sizes. It seems Brown Thomas is thinking of dropping them altogether. I think it reflects an attitude amongst some retailers that women don't do sport - they only buy sports gear for fashion reasons
Enough gripping - anymore recommendations? has anyone tried enell?
i use shock absorbers and i think they are great, a little hard to get on and off maybe but other than that they are really supportive.
craft is available in Ireland.Runways in parnell st .
Try www.lessbounce.co.uk, they have a very extensive range and deliver promptly.
I've tried Nike and Shock Absorber sports bras and could recommend either. You can get them on elverys website.
Do Runways have a website? Any good running shops like it in Galway?

Footlocker coupon AFROTWFL for 15%.
anyone have a zappos coupon for the new custom shoes?
can't rate shock absorber bra's enough they are really comfortable and offer really good support, you should have a look at their website http://www.shockabsorber.co.uk/default.aspx and find out what size would suitable for you and the level of sport you do. The only problem I have with them is finding the right size, normally only find bigger sizes in the shops. Odlo also do a good sports bra - the only place I've seen them is in 53 Degrees North in Dublin.
Also for a change or if the shock absorbers arent support enough or you prefer a different style... ROYCE bras are super. Could also be worn as a top on its own in fab weather. Reinfroced at the top . Your boobs dont swing up in it so they dont bounce down as hard.
Unfortunately I have nothing there to support (!), but my patients rave about the Shock Absorber Sports Run Bra - you can get them in Arnotts and Debenhams, Champion Sports and Elverys. They cost about 50 euro.
It's important to invest in a decent supportive sports bra, it can actually cause injury if your breasts are flying around the place as you run, pulling on your neck and causing the shoulders to round with the weight of them!
We treat these injuries at Total Physio! www.totalphysio.ie
I find the shock absorbers level 4 brillant as they keep your boobs where they should be especially if you do actually need good support. They are hard to find and I usually end up going to dublin and got them in JJB sports in the Blancherstown Centre. I was actually surprise to find such a big selection of bra's with lots of colours sizes and all the different levels available. They also had addidas, nike and other brands that I didn't recognise. But the biggest surprise came when I went to pay for my bras was to be asked if I wanted to availe of their fitting service and the girl actually knew what she was talking about, now that was a service I didn't expect...top marks there
CW-X
I got a CW-X sports bra at a women's half marathon a few years ago - they're brilliant, I can't rate them highly enough! Before that, I was wearing a regular bra and sports bra combo, which was really uncomfortable!
You can buy them online from amazon and some other site. Here's the vendor's site; they also do a line of supportive running tights for men and womens, they know their stuff when it comes to well-engineered sports products!

I find shock absorbers bras are great. They last for ages, hold their shape and have good support. The cheapest place I have found them in is TKMax. You might have to call in a couple of times to get your size because of their high turnover but it is worth it because they are usually around 10 euro! A massive saving!

When I started coaching 12 years ago and then got more mature I had womens and parents asking me about this.
I came home and said this to my partner and she took it very seriously, as she said that's the kind of things men don't think about.
Now that I have more experience and with discussion with my female athletes, yes it is important for a coach to know how confortable an athlete is in their running gear and there is no coaching course preparing to this.
The few female I have at the moment use "Craft" but I do not know if they are available in Ireland and they are leaving here.
I know a few going there: http://www.seejanerun.com
Anyway I do believe that women gear are not enough avalable on the market, maybe something I should look into with runireland ?
