Just in case you don't like pasta the night before your race or get tummy cramps, etc. here's a few suggestions for gluten-free ways to load those carbs:

Going gluten-free means it's easier for the body to use the carb energy. So guess it could be mexican instead of italian next time?

Hi Broders3,

If the above links don't work, you may need to copy and paste one of them into a new internet page to get it to display.

Hi I am looking for some advice on sports drinks suitable to a gluten free / ceoliac diet. Ran 20 miler yesterday in training for connemara and ran out of energy at 16.5 mile mark, rest of run was not pleasant. I took a banana and yogurt before starting, had a banana on 7 and 14 mile mark and drank plenty of water. Any advice would be appreciated. Drank sports drinks and gel in Dublin City Marathon and they made me really sick to the stomach.

I did Dublin as well and the Club Energise drink they gave out made me sick too!! It was far to heavy and sweet
