Help re GPS
I'm looking for some advice on GPS watches. I have been a jogger for the last couple of years. I always say that its not pretty when I run but that the buzz it gives me is fantastic.
To motivate myself I promise myself little treats - new gear or fitness game for the wii...
I'm really interested in a GPS watch. I know that its not a training essential not for someone like me but I am keen to improve both my marathon and half pb and find it very tough to do interval training on a treadmill alone.
Just wondering what experience people have of these fancy watches and what advice or thoughts they have,
Thanks
Brian thanks a million for your advise. I'm off work for a few days so will devote myslef fully to looking into the two watches ou mentioned.
Thanks also for the amazon tip. A friend mentioned wiggle.co.uk is a good site too!
Thanks again
Rachel

I've been running with a Garmin 405 GPS watch for the last few months and can't say enough good things about it. It has really made running more interesting. You can use just the basics of it, like tracking your distance and heart rate on each run, or you can get a lot more intricate, programming the watch for interval training, tempo runs, uploading your training data to the Garmin website, etc. If you like gadgets and you like running, I don't think you can go wrong with this watch.
I hear a lot of people talk about the Garmin 305 as well, which is less expensive but still garners a lot of positive reviews. Some people love the Polar watches, but I haven't had any experience with them myself.
When you're looking to buy, check out the deals on Amazon.co.uk - you can end up saving yourself a lot of money.
Hope that helps,
Brian
