Hi Folks,
I'm looking for a sports physio in Galway. I have a problem with the one of my my big toes which is preventing me from running. An X-ray has ruled out a break or stress fracture so looking at tendon issue I reckon.
Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Hi

I can definately recommend Trish in Baily Point Physio. 3 members of my own family have gone to her and also my neighbour and all have said she is brilliant so Im sure she will sort you out!

She is in baily point physiotherapy and sports clinic in Salthill. I'm not sure of her surname think it's streloff or stirliof. I have her number at home if anyone wants it but I'm sure u can google it anyways

Hi ska_73

Out of the all the physios ive been to id highly recommend Adrian Craddock. Based out by Claregalway, has treated me for a couple of running related injuries in the past and each time has put me back on the road in no time, successfully!

You should try Jane Ann Healy in Athenry...she specialises in sports & is a runner herself!!! Highly recommended!

Michelle Biggins in Oranmore is very good 085-1670574

Hi, I can personally recommend Darren Macfarlane, he has a clinic on Abbeygate Street, he knows his stuff and seems to treat alot of sports related injuries, if you google him you will get his number.

@chartered physiotherapist - could you maybe outline the differences for people who may not be aware of the distinction between chartered / unchartered physios, sports therapists etc?

Chartered physiotherapist are medical trained, have completed a full time 4-5 year physiotherapy degree in either UCD,Trinity,UL,royal college of surgeons or in UK.
Chartered physiotherapist work alongside doctors/specialists and in hospital setting aswell as private practise.

Sports therapists/massage therapists/physical therapist are not the above.

Sports Therapists / Physical Therapists have also completed several years of study, it's a little unfair to imply that they are not suitably qualified.

I can second the recommendation re Trish Strlelioff. Have had a few problems that she has sorted out for me including knees and back. She's very accomodating and very professional and has huge experience working with athletes.
