I was on a few weeks ago looking for advice on running the marathon and thanks for tips etc. Great feedback. I'm having a few problems in the last few weeks. i was running about 5 miles steadily recently but the last two times I've gone out I am absolutely exhausted. The last time I went I could only manage half my normal time out. It's not laziness, I can be guilty of that, but here it's genuine dog tiredness. Am I doing something wrong? I only run twice a week so it's not overtraining. Any advice appreciated.

Might be no harm getting your bloods done. Very important to check these every couple of months when you are training. It could pinpoint some deficiencies in your diet which may be leading to your fatigue on the roads. Good luck

hi, it's normal for every runner to feel bad on runs from time to time, and it's certainly normal to have a bad day out on the roads, two in a row is also normal especially if you are working hard or under pressure elsewhere - I wouldn't think this is much of a problem unless you start to feel like this all the time. Make sure you are eating well at the right times with the right foods and you should be fine, but I would see a GP if you feel really bad all the time just to be sure nothing is wrong. On another level, if you are running marathons, it would definitely help to be getting out running more often.

I think we all just have bad days when we cant run a mile without feeling wrecked. Some days you just have to take those days with a pinch of salt, and try again the following day. But a medical professional should probably be your first port of call, just to rule out any illness, and give yourself peace of mind.

Hi ,i'm new to this forum but if its any helps i am fairly new to the runners world and i feel the same. Some days i feel i could run forever and others i can barley run a mile. I am as fit as a fiddle medically, as i have to complete a medical every couple of years for my work. I am struggling to achieve five miles at the moment. I think home life , work life (especially shift work) has a hugh bearing on performance. Try running nat differant times, maybe avoid after dinner runs, i find the food sit in your gut for houirs and it makes running hard. I fine running before dinner and about 3 hours after lunch if i can find the time works great for me. good quality gear is also important comfortable clothing and correct fitting runners are essential , get them fitted in one of the shoe shops . Do the doctor thing first if your unsure of your medical status first , nothing to lose ,maybe a few quid. best of luct with the running,

Tom.
