Try googling "limerick athletic clubs"  and you will get a few clubs listed in the Limerick area.    I am from the east coast so I am not familiar with them myself.  The reason I am responding to your question is because I am fairly new to running myself and I recently joined up with the local athlectics club.  I always thought these clubs were for "elite" athletes but I was wrong.   My local club encourages people of all ages and ability to join up.   There is a beginners - intermediate - advanced group, so I felt right at home from the first session.    The club train you to increase your speed and stamina and also encourage you to enter for races starting with a 5k.   I would highly recommend you make contact with your local club - Happy Running :-)

See when the track sessions are starting back in Ul that is always a good place to start, or go onto the Great Limerick Run Face book page and post it up there that you are looking for someone to train with.
