I have been doing 3 nights a week 5k comfortably but really want to do 10k. There is a 10k run in 3 weeks do you think I would be able to do it. Am I mad to consider it !!! Any feedback appreciated. Thanks !!
If you have been running the whole 5k comfortably, totalling 15k per week you should be well capable of doing this.
Just remember your average pace will be slightly slower than your 5k pace and it would be worth working up to 8km on one of your runs the week before the race ie. build this week to doing a 6/7k run and next week cover 8k and you'll be fine for the 10k.
Thanks so much for your reply. Will try and do 7 or 8k this week and see how I go I dont care about time just the fact of working my way up to it.
hey i have being training for a half marathon and on a run on tuesday something in my knee went is their any exersises that i can do to speed up recovery
Not being smart but the best thing you can do is go to a physio to find out what 'went'. Then you can find out the best way to recover.
Well I did it ran 8k on Saturday so delighted with myself in 46 minutes !!! So roll on 10k, Do you think that its better if you ran the course or not to know it !! Thanks I'll prob be nervous wreck
