Hey everyone,

I ran the Pearl Izumi race last year. To be honest I wouldnt call it a "brilliant success" as it says above. There were 2 laps of the course which had markers for the first lap but none for the second. This was a problem as the km markers on the second lap didnt correspond with the first. For example Km4 did not equal Km9. Km9 was at least 1.5km from the finish which personally cost me around 1 minute from where I thought I was.
Also the race started 15 minutes late due to the road not being marshalled on time. It was a pretty miserable day last year to be hanging around for that length of time.

If the organizers got this right it would be a good race to run. Relatively flat course with just a couple of inclines.

Hi Sean,

Ger here, thanks for the comments and it is with these comments we can build and create a great race for runners.

We had alot of positive comments after the race from many and we hope to build on them for this year.

In relation to Markers, that was a defo over sight and the course will be marked fro every KM this year, sorry about that.

The slight delay in the start was unfortunate, but it was due to the inspector of the Gardai, not happy with a particular junction , but all in all the Gardai done a great job and safety was their number one priority as we managed to run the race without road closures.

Hope to see you there this year Sean if you can make it and the issues raised will be rectified,

Again

Thanks

Ger
