This is the fifth year of the 13.1mile Wild West Trail Run, which meanders between Kenmare and Killarney on the world famous 'Kerry Way'.

Runners leave the village of Kenmare on the Wild Atlantic Way and pick up the trail heading towards Peakeen Mountain and on to Galway's Bridge, on the cusp of Killarney National Park. Rounding the marshalling station here, the runners head south back to Gowlane's Cross before heading east towards Dromcahan and eventually back to Kenmare. Route starts at sea level and rises to an elevation of 700m, crossing some of Kerry's finest peaks and rivers.

Sat 28 Feb. 11am. Kenmare. Race HQ - Kenmare Race Registration and Goody Bag collection will be in Kenmare on morning of race @07 30 to 09 30. All runners must register here. Route. Kenmare to Galway's Bridge and back. Route is 60% trail/40% rural road - a mix of ascents/decents. Small river crossings. Safety/ Directional Marshalls throughout course. Medical team in attendance. Water stations throughout course. Trail shoes essential. Prizes. Over €1500 of top notch trail gear! First three home male/female. Additional spot prizes Extras. All runners can use the Spa and Health Club facilities at the Award Winning Kenmare Bay Hotel - at a knock-down price. This includes pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and showers. a great way to relax after 13m of Kerry hill and glen. Snug Bar open in hotel for food and drink afters.
