Slieve Bloom Run 10km & Half Marathon

The inaugural Slieve Bloom Run is a Run/Jog/Walk event which will include routes of both 10km and Half Marathon distance around the Slieve Bloom Mountains, incorporating part of the marked Slieve Bloom Way.
The event will take place on Sunday 8th April 2012 (Easter Sunday). The event will start and finish at the Community Centre in Clonaslee, Co. Laois.
It will follow a clockwise route around well known scenic sections of the Slieve Bloom Mts such as Glendineoregan (Half Mar) and Rickets Rock (10km).
The route will be fully signposted and marshalled and consists of road, country lanes and forest trails before returning to the Community Centre via the picturesque village of Clonaslee. Through our event we aim to promote health and fitness in the region, and in turn highlight the many recently developed walks available to the public in the charming Slieve Bloom Mts.
Start Time:    Walkers 9.30am,     Runners 10.30am
Entry Fee:  10km -17 Euros,      Half marathon - 22 Euros
On the day entry available at an extra 3 euros (only if entry limit not reached).
Entry Fee includes: High quality ('I'm Bloomin' Fit') technical T-shirt for all finishers. Drinks available on route and refreshments will be provided at the finish. Changing facilities and showers available at the Community Centre.
