Cong 8km

The Route & Distance This is a unique 8km Road Race (AAI Certified) in the beautiful surrounds of Cong Woods/Ashford Estate and Lough Corrib in Association with Cancer Care West (CCW). The route starts 2km to the west of Cong village next to a Marine Services yard where registration will commence at 9.30. Parking facilities are provided here also. It runs along a local access road for 1.5km before entering the Coillte Forest along a sealed surface roadway for 500m and then turns left on to a forest trail. it continues along this forest trail for a further 3km and then continues for 1km along a road within the Ashford Estate. It re-enters the forest where it runs for 2.5km on a fire road and jons back onto a local access road for the final 500m finish which is close to the Start lines. Race Start Time 11am Entry Fee €15.
