Originally from South Africa he moved with his family to Ireland in 2001 bringing with him a wealth of experience in the sporting arena. “My association with the Irish Hypnotherapy Association is one that I hope will just keep going from strength to strength. I hope to bring a unique fresh awareness about hypnosis to the west and hope to dispel all the myths and misconceptions about it. So many people have this complete misconception about hypnosis however so many of them themselves are hypnotised at some stage of the day without even noticing it. An example example I would like to give from my own experience is when I used to train I would have a very strict set routine that I would adhere to. There were a few occasions when because of what ever reason I may have skipped some sessions or some areas of the training. Whenever on the rare occasion that this did happen, I would invariably have lost. This was due to some force or thing in the back of my mind saying that I should not have skipped those one or two sessions that created the negative mindset or limiting belief that I was not fully fit. 9 out 10 times I would have been in fact have been fitter than the opponent and better skilled however the mental block restricted my belief in myself and my ability to give the 100% I required of myself whether I won or not. So many of us today have this mental block without even realising it. We mostly always focus on the negative aspects, setbacks orfailures of life without realising that we just keep setting ourselves up. We often, keep reinforcing the negative program we have created for ourselves without even realising its power and influence over our lives. Granted life has its stresses and day to day problems,however it is a pity we don’t often take the time to change the way we view them and reap the rewards and benefits of doing so.” Dudley is the Western Director at the IHA and oversees the development of organisation and referral system in the West.
